Which Podcast Hosting Platform Should I Use?

Use the comparison chart below to choose the right podcast hosting platform for your podcast.

For Reference

Cost

This is the cost per month. The cost on the chart is if you pay monthly. Some platforms have a discounted price for paying annually.

Storage

Some platforms limit the amount of audio you can upload each month. Some list by hour of audio and others list by storage size. Note that one hour of audio at a 112 Kbps bitrate is about 50.4 MB.

Downloads

Some platforms limit the number of downloads or the bandwidth used by downloading episodes. 500GB would be equal to about 10,000 downloads of a one-hour podcast (50.4 MB).

Stats

All of the hosting platforms on the chart are IAB certified. That means they are following industry standard guidelines that accurately reflect real download and listener stats.

Website

Some platforms include a website for your podcast if you don’t plan on hosting your podcast on your own site.

Custom Dynamic Insertion Tool

If you will be selling your own advertisements, dynamic insertion can be a useful tool because you can switch out the audio that plays in that ad spot over time. For example, if your sponsor has a President’s Day sale, you can run an ad about the sale before President’s Day weekend, then switch the audio to a general ad for the sponsor after the sale is over. It also means you can sell new ads on old podcast episodes.
